Job Description

The Role
We are seeking a Specialist Ore Reserves for our copper operations. The role is to develop ore reserves from LoAP with a strategy that maximises value extracted from the mining plan for the benefit of all stakeholders.

The role can be based in Santiago, Chile or Lima, Peru.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Integrate and track cross-functional initiatives that impact on reserve generation and LoAP.
  2. Create Reserves for existing operations. Prepare report of mine Reserves in compliance with relevant codes.
  3. Provide specialist support to a business or function as required.
  4. Develop and maintain systems to streamline Reserve process.
  5. Establish standard database, planning, scheduling and reporting systems for Reserves.
  6. Integrate data and financial modelling to enhance Reserve capability.
  7. Utilise scanning capability to keep up-to-date with technological advancements and relevant code updates to ensure health of discipline is industry leading and forward focused.
Qualifications
  1. Bachelors degree in relevant subject.
  2. A demonstrated application of academic qualifications through experience working in the field.
  3. Registration with the recognised body for reserve declaration (AUSIMM, SAIMM, ECSA, SACNASP).
Role-specific Knowledge/Requirements
  1. Extensive background in mine design, planning, production scheduling and cost estimating.
  2. Completing studies including resource evaluations, feasibility studies, mine planning optimisations, financial analyses.
  3. Demonstrated ability in planning software (Comet, Deswick, Minesight, Cadsmine, Vulcan or Datamine).
  4. Demonstrated ability to understand the entire mining value chain and influence on reserve declaration.
  5. Complexity of global mining company, social, political, environment and cultural influences and how to strategically manage the impact of external forces.
  6. Managing diverse multi-functional operational and technical teams.
  7. 5 years’ experience at a mid-management level in mine planning or survey within the organisation.
  8. Advantageous experience in copper mining operations.
  9. Fluency in Spanish and conversational English.
