Overview The Deploy Regional Technical Lead is a strategic and technical leadership role responsible for driving pre‑engagement activities, aligning technical capabilities with customer needs, and ensuring the successful execution of Digital Deploy initiatives within the region. This role serves as a bridge between business development, technical teams, and operational execution to deliver value‑driven solutions to clients. The role is structured around four key pillars: Business Development – Supporting revenue growth by driving pre‑engagement discussions and aligning Digital Deploy capabilities with client needs. Technical Capabilities – Ensuring solutions are technically viable and aligned with Mastercard’s core products and innovations. Portfolio Management – Tracking and managing Digital Deploy engagements within the region. Operations – Driving efficiencies in processes, governance, resource planning and vendor management to scale Digital Deploy services. Role Description The Deploy Regional Technical Lead works hand‑in‑hand with Deploy Business Lead and other Mastercard teams to drive innovation, experiment with cutting‑edge solutions, and ensure that Mastercard’s digital engagements are executed with strategic vision and technical excellence. This role balances strategic thinking with execution, ensuring Mastercard's digital solutions drive maximum client value while maintaining technical integrity and operational efficiency. Business Development Partner with regional sales, account teams, and Digital Labs to identify and qualify opportunities for Digital Deploy. Lead pre‑engagement discussions with clients, demonstrating how Digital Deploy accelerates value realization for Mastercard products. Contribute to the commercial structuring of engagements, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Develop and refine narratives that effectively communicate the Digital Deploy value proposition to customers. Analytic Excellence: Demonstrates a strong aptitude for structured problem solving and quantitative skills and leads team to effective and efficient technical capability usage regardless of context. Project Management: Clear interest in project delivery with business clients, and intuition for the way that companies make decisions. Client Management: Inspire client confidence through timely and reliable execution and develop stakeholder management plans to align priorities and address support and resistance. Communication and Presence: Leads composition of complete deliverables and other written communication and demonstrates an ability to communicate verbally in a wide range of complex scenarios and up to senior management levels. Teamwork: Motivates medium size teams or key workstreams on large engagements to produce superior quality deliverables while creating an open collaboration environment for all levels, with a will to win attitude. Commercial Orientation: Ability to identify strong opportunities to leverage internal capabilities, including identification of cross‑sell opportunities beyond direct project work, and partner with broader services teammates on contracting activities, leveraging knowledge of services capabilities and how they fit together to create relevant solutions for clients. Leadership: Instill a sense of urgency, ownership, and empowerment and thoughtful risk taking into leaders at all levels. Structures work so it aligns with team members’ goals and motivators. Diverse Perspective: Brings a unique skillset or approach to the table in every client engagement or internal activity. Qualification & Experience 10+ years of experience in technical pre‑sales, solution architecture, or digital product delivery, ideally within financial services or technology companies. Consulting experience at a senior level in a top‑rated professional services firm and/or equivalent technology and/or major financial institution is preferred. Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification. An MBA or other equivalent advanced postgraduate degree is preferred. Strong understanding of digital transformation, APIs, cloud architectures, and software development lifecycles. Experience working with customers to scope and define complex technical solutions. Advanced experience directly managing multiple people across multiple projects. Proven ability to work cross‑functionally, collaborating with business development, product, and engineering teams. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior executives and technical audiences. Strong problem‑solving and analytical capabilities, with a focus on delivering client‑centric solutions. Exposure specifically in payments and / or retail banking or merchants is preferred. Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment, and balance thought with action while getting the most out of limited resource. Experience managing vendors and third‑party providers in a technical pre‑engagement or implementation capacity. Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively – both verbally and in writing – in English and Spanish. A third language such as Portuguese is a plus. Advanced Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills are required; data expertise preferred. Preferred Skills & Attributes Knowledge of Mastercard’s digital products and solutions. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and product development best practices. Experience with financial services technologies such as open banking, payments, authentication, or fraud prevention. Ability to lead and mentor technical teams, fostering a collaborative and high‑performance culture. Prior experience in technical consulting within a global, matrixed organization. This role will require travel within the region to support client engagements and Mastercard’s business objectives.
