Purpose of the post The Monitoring and Reporting Mechanism (MRM) was established in Mali in 2013, following the listing of three armed groups in the UN Secretary-General’s 12th Annual Report on Children and Armed Conflict, for the recruitment and use of children and for rape or other forms of grave sexual violence against children. After the Mission’s withdrawal in 2023, UNICEF Mali, together with the Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator, now co-chairs the Country Task Force on Monitoring and Reporting (CTFMR). The CTFMR oversees monitoring and documentation of the six grave violations, contributes to reports such as the GHN and the Secretary‑General’s CAAC report, and leads high-level advocacy. A professional license from internationally recognized institutions is an asset. Work Experience A minimum of 2 years of professional work experience at national levels in child protection, including MRM and child protection in emergencies. Language Requirements Fluency in French is required, and good working knowledge of English is an asset. Knowledge of another UN language or a local language is an asset. Desirables Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
