Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Founding Full Stack Engineer at ContractPower. We are seeking a mid-level professional with 5–10 years of experience who is excited to operate in a founding-capacity role at an early-stage startup. You will play a critical role in building the core product from the ground up, working closely with the founding team to shape both the technical architecture and the future of the company. The ideal candidate is hungry to work in a fast-paced startup environment, comfortable with ambiguity, and eager to take ownership of meaningful technical and product decisions. Responsibilities include building, deploying, and optimizing our platform using both front-end and back-end technologies; integrating large language models (LLMs) into production software; and contributing across the entire software development lifecycle. Day-to-day work involves designing, coding, debugging, and maintaining scalable web-based applications, collaborating with teammates to deliver a seamless user experience for energy professionals. Qualifications 5–10 years of professional software engineering experience with a strong full-stack background Expertise in Back-End Web Development and Full-Stack Development Proficiency in frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Vue) and backend languages (e.g., Node.js, Python) Prior experience building software with LLM or AI model integrations (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, embeddings, retrieval pipelines, agents) Experience designing, building, and deploying scalable, production-grade web applications Strong problem-solving and debugging skills Ability to thrive in a startup environment, take initiative, and move quickly with limited oversight Comfortable working in a dynamic, remote-first team with evolving requirements Familiarity with renewable energy or infrastructure sectors is a plus Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field is preferred Compensation Competitive salary based on experience.
