RETAIL SUPERVISOR – SAN FERNANDO

Job Purpose

This position is responsible to direct efforts of the Store Associates toward maintaining the company standards of Store presentation and customer service while achieving the store standards of sales, profit and inventory control.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Meets or exceeds the sales goals established for their branch to ensure the expansion of retail business.
  • Coaches and mentors Sales Associates and Senior Sales Associates on customer service and selling techniques that meet the customer’s needs and address customers’ complaints and queries.
  • Analyzes, identifies and communicates the required stock levels for his/her retail outlet to the Retail Manager and monitors branch inventory.
  • Ensures that all administrative tasks regarding Inter-Warehouse Transfers, Delivery Notes, Trade Promotion, Material Request and Goods Returned Notes are completed accurately and in accordance with the company’s standard operating procedures.
  • Assists in the cashing function in the absence of cashiers.
  • Balances daily sales and ensures that banking reports are accurate and submitted to the Finance department within the stipulated timeframe.
  • Ensures that the branch is maintained in a clean, tidy and attractive manner and reports any interior and exterior branch maintenance issues, system irregularities or problems to Retail Manager.
  • Ensures that the proper safety policies and practices are adhered to and maintained by all.
  • Ensures that all sales are processed accurately and in accordance with the company’s procedures and protocols.
  • Processes paperwork associated with all forms of point of sale transactions.
  • Assists the Retail Manager in developing monthly rosters based on forecasted sales and other business.
  • Assists in the recruitment and selection process of new Sales Associates.
  • Executes all training plans and other skill development programs set out by the Retail Manager.
  • Assists the Retail Manager in the completion of Performance Appraisal for direct reports.
  • Any other related responsibilities that may be assigned by Management.

Academic Qualifications & Experience

  • A minimum of Five (5) CXC O’ Level passes, inclusive of English Language and Mathematics.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Suite of products.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a similar position.
  • A combination of qualifications and experience or a proven track record in Sales and Marketing will be taken into consideration.
