AWS Specialist Solutions Architects (SSAs) are technologists with deep domain specific expertise, able to address advanced concepts and feature designs. As part of the AWS sales organization, SSAs work with customers who have complex challenges that require expert-level knowledge to solve.

Infrastructure SSA is subject matter expertise in designing cloud and hybrid solutions that run on AWS including Compute, Network, Storage, Monitoring, and Security. The ideal candidate would have advanced experience and knowledge of IT operations, Security Operation Center (SoC), business continuity, disaster recovery, data platforms, and governance. The person would also manage how decisions in each area affect an overall solution.

This is a customer-facing position where you will introduce new features and products in order to help colleagues and customers embrace technological advancement. Therefore, we would love to see someone who has demonstrated thought leadership in terms of looking beyond the current state of your customer's technology, considering the value that new technologies can create for your customers, and helping to change how these products are viewed and accepted.

The ideal candidate will be …

1. Hands-on experiences: 10+ years experience with global enterprise networking operations, data center management and VMware.
2. Business continuity plan (BCP) experiences: Overall business continuity plan including strategies, implementation, game days, and total cost estimation. Can explain well on the differences between Business continuity plan (BCP), High Availability (HA), Backup & Restore, Disaster Recovery (DR), and Archive.
3. Be an Architect: Ensure success in helping customers accelerate their adoption of our compute, network, storage, and security services. Guide and motivate the development of artifacts, data sheets, proof of concept best practices, and other high-value customer facing guidance and best practices.
4. Trusted advisor to customers: Facilitate relationships with senior technical executives, as well as easily interact and give guidance to software developers, IT operations staff, and system architects. Materialize an overall recommendation (or proposal) based on customer needs and efficiently communicate formal presentations, white boarding, large and small group presentations.
5. Vertical knowledge on industries and have related experiences (e.g., manufacturing, semi-conductor, retails, over-the-top media, and telecom); able to articulate end-to-end information flow of these focused vertical.
6. Have a business consultant capacity to work with customer’s line-of-business owner; explore improvement areas of customer’s business; and prioritize strong ROI business initiatives with customers.

A technical degree in computer science, MIS, engineering or related discipline - or equivalent certifications/experience. You have in-depth knowledge of the architectural principles and services used to develop technical cloud strategy, assist with cloud migration efforts, review workload architectures, and provide guidance on how to address high-risk issues. You should have 5+ years including:

1. AWS administration
2. Networking and security monitoring in hybrid environment
3. Process of Infrastructure as Code and DevSecOps
4. Maintaining your operations during the migration to the Cloud
5. Knowing your applications and understanding your application requirements
6. Aligning with applicable governance, regulatory and compliance frameworks
7. Designing and implementing: a/ identity, governance, and monitoring solutions, b/ data storage solutions, c/ business continuity solutions and d/ infrastructure solutions

Key job responsibilities

1. Collaborate with AWS field sales to support customers with their hybrid cloud workload challenges including networking, storage, computing, and security.
2. Ensure success in helping customers accelerate their adoption of AWS hybrid / edge specialized services. Architect large scale applications with AWS hybrid /edge solutions for simplicity, massive traffics, resiliency and maintainability.
3. Share best-practice knowledge among the solutions engineering and AWS solutions architect communities.
4. Guide and motivate the development of artifacts, data sheets, proof of concept best practices, and other high-value customer facing guidance and best practices.
5. Work as one-team between customers, service engineering teams, sales and support engineers. Coach and enable customers and partners to be self-sufficient.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

1. 4+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
2. 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
