Position Summary The Respiratory Therapist provides respiratory care to patients. Minimum Education Graduate of an accredited AMA Respiratory Care Program Preferred Experience Some experience in hospital respiratory care or related area. Required Certifications / Licensure Possession of current RCP State of Texas License; possession of current CRT / RRT Certification from NBRC. Renewal required every 5 years unless grandfathered prior to July 1, 2002. Required Courses / Completions (e.g., CPR) Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire. AHA ACLS must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role. AHA PALS must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role if covering Pedi. AHA NRP must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role if covering NICU.
