Job Title Contracts Formation Specialist Job Summary In this role, you will lead a team to manage subcontracts and monitor operations. You will develop the subcontracting strategy, operating procedures, staffing plan, and the contracts section of the Project Execution Plan. You will review and approve bid details, commitments, and negotiations to ensure subcontracting is consistent with the project plan and requirements. Project Description Ujina Growth Project – The mining area is located 185 km southeast of Iquique, at 4,400 meters above sea level, in Tarapacá Region. The main objective is to increase the concentrator’s throughput capacity from 170 ktpd to 210 ktpd. The awarded service includes detailed engineering and procurement of six flotation cells, with on‑site support during construction, starting August 1, 2023 and expected to complete February 2025. Major Responsibilities Define and develop the scope of Contracts work for a small‑ to medium‑sized project. Prepare and coordinate Contracts plans, procedures, schedules, estimates, forecasts, and budgets. Develop commercial terms and conditions for use on project contract documents, ensuring prime contract requirements are incorporated. Participate in the development of the Supply Chain Assignment Schedule and division of responsibility. Coordinate Contract execution plan with Engineering and Construction plans to enable Contracts to perform its functions in accordance with project plans. Review evaluations with global business unit functional managers and the global business unit Manager of Supply Chain. Manage the subcontract for a contract of low to medium risk or complexity. Provide functional direction and supervision to all assigned subcontracts personnel, monitoring operations to ensure compliance with project requirements and corporate policies. Develop and implement the subcontracting strategy for the assigned project or office, including translating the Supply Chain Assignment Schedule into a specific working contracting plan. Review bid tabulations for accuracy, recommend bidders, and approve selection within delegated authority. Ensure all commitments made by subordinate personnel are accurately presented and follow established approval and signing authorities contained in company policies. Education and Experience Requirements Engineering degree in any engineering discipline, preferably in construction or business administration (or international equivalent). Minimum of 10–13 years of relevant experience, or 14–17 years of relevant work experience. Required Knowledge and Skills Previous experience in the role on major projects. Experience in the formation of contracts of greater complexity in all phases of bidding. Current or prior experience at Bechtel. Ability to draft and/or review contract terms and conditions and project procedures. Flexibility to adapt to workload and priorities. Ability to meet demanding work deadlines. Strong organization in documentation and record keeping. Proficiency in MS Office.
