Over 50 million people use Speechify’s text-to-speech products to turn PDFs, books, Google Docs, news articles, and websites into audio, enabling faster reading, more reading, and better retention. Our interview process includes several technical rounds, typically completed within one week. Overview As Speechify grows, our AI team seeks a Senior Backend Engineer to ensure scalable infrastructure, optimize core product flows, and build resilient systems. If you enjoy strategizing, high-paced work, and taking ownership, we want to hear from you. What You'll Do Develop state-of-the-art voice cloning technologies. Implement low-latency, cost-effective text-to-speech solutions. An Ideal Candidate Should Have Proven backend experience with Python. Hands-on experience with GCP and familiarity with AWS, Azure, or other cloud platforms. Efficient in ideation and implementation, with good prioritization skills. Experience with Docker and containerized deployments. Proficiency in deploying high-availability applications on Kubernetes. Preferred: Experience deploying NLP or TTS models to production.
