Job Details Position: Project Estimator Employer: Bechtel Corporation Location: Santiago, Chile Telework: Part-Time Telework (minimum of three days in person per week) Relocation: None Requisition ID: Job Summary In this position, you will manage a team to develop estimates for projects with many stakeholders. You will provide key technical leadership and direct input to proposals, strategic plans, client presentations, and contract negotiations. Your leadership and expertise will ensure deliverables are within scope, performed at a low cost, and consistent with the proposal budget. "This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership." Major Responsibilities Lead estimate development for projects at low to moderate financial or reputational risk levels. Develop, present, and maintain Project Estimate Plan(s) specific to estimating efforts. Develop estimate schedule of activities. Monitor progress and oversee overall estimate development. Be responsible for creation of estimate review/basis packages and ensure they are completed per approved procedures. Prepare cost studies utilizing historical data, statistical analysis, and cost and quantity comparisons; develop new techniques as required. Analyze cost and price data from suppliers, subcontractors, and internal cost information, generating comparative data and historical cost metrics. Direct discussions in management reviews. Analyze estimating data and correlate to other projects and Bechtel standards. Education And Experience Requirements Requires a bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience, or 14-17 years of relevant work experience. Required Knowledge And Skills Leadership ability. Adaptability and negotiation skills. Ability to manage people, deadlines, and time. Experience in managing work teams and preparation.
