Descripción
The Chilean Chief Financial Officer, Gallagher Global Brokerage (GGB) is a key member of the local leadership team, is accountable to the Latam regional CFO Gallagher. The CFO is responsible for all aspects of financial management for the retail and FAC local businesses. The position supports the development and execution of a strategic growth plan, sustainable growth. S/he holds responsibility for the country's adherence to local and group regulatory requirements. Key functional partnerships include local Audit, regional FP&A, regional Accounting, and regional M&A/Transformational teams.
The successful candidate for this position will be adept at building relationships with Local leadership, regional finance. The ability to lead with confidence and maintain independence and objectivity will be critical. Another critical point is the ability to create a reputable control and compliant environment that includes but not limited to integrity and transparency of data. Having the ability to communicate clearly, accurately, and decisively will be paramount to this individual's success. The ability to forecast and illustrate plans using financial analytics is imperative. The successful candidate will be comfortable in a fast-moving environment with multiple priorities, managing day to day demands while driving positive change both within the way the Finance team operates and the business.

Key Relationships

  • Reports directly to the regional Latam GGB CFO.
  • Reports indirectly to the local country manager.
  • Local Financial teams such as FP&A, M&A, Tax, A/P, Accounting reports to this position.
  • Executive and strategic Finance Partner to the Chilean Executive Teams.
  • Strong relationship including but not limited to local IT, HR, Operations, Legal and Compliance.
Major Responsibilities
Driving Business Decisions
  • Build finance business partnering capabilities and utilize financial analytics to drive strategic and sound business decisions.
  • Identify opportunities for revenue expansion, margin enhancement, and expense reduction opportunities.
  • Provide insightful reporting, analysis and KPIs to optimize financial performance.
  • Acknowledge deep understanding of business challenges and opportunities, and provide independent challenge to management views, when necessary, on proposed investments and expense policy.
  • Increase the efficiency within the finance function by leveraging digital tools to communicate clearly, and to enable local leaders to anticipate likely outcomes of key financial decisions.
  • Recognizing the cost of unsound financial decisions, communicate clear and concise direction to Chilean leaders with respect to P&L management, operating as a trusted advisor and consulting partner.
  • Prepare periodic reports for management, providing information concerning issues through resolution.
  • Preparation of annual budgets, monthly monitoring of results against budget with periodic forecast updates.
Strategy
  • Contribute to the development of Dominant Priorities for Chile.
  • In support of creating sound financial planning roadmap that includes current resources, costs, and budget as well as proposed areas of investment (aka Initiatives).
  • Enhance the local finance team's capabilities to respond to pending business decisions, enabling the business to understand how to evaluate uncertain outcomes.
  • Work with Regional Finance Leadership to monitor performance against overall long-term strategic plans.
  • Provide fair and balanced insights into current, emerging and potential opportunities and issues.
Financial Controls
  • Hold accountability for ensuring strong financial controls are in place, in keeping with broader AJG Finance requirements.
  • Lead and manage a team of local Finance professionals responsible for implementation of financial controls, including managing budgets, forecasts and long-range planning.
  • Balance the need to manage cost without stifling investment for growth or losing the business's commitment.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance, and adherence to internal Gallagher reporting requirements.
  • Knowledge of local regulations, statutory accounting requirements, and tax laws, to ensure compliance and understanding of tax strategies.
  • Strong risk management skills, to identify and mitigate potential risks, such as currency fluctuations, inflation, and regulatory changes.
  • Be one of the key local executives to build a reputable governance controls around: Compliance, integrity of data, transparency, thus ensure consistency in approach and provide guidance to regional finance teams with respect to reporting and controls.
System implementations
  • Partner with IT to finalize and stabilize local financial platform implementations such as JDE, Circulus, Salesforce accounting module.
Data Intelligence
  • Support and enable regional enterprise-wide data and reporting strategies, proper governance, and effective decision support.
Leadership
  • Manage, develop and recruit, where necessary, senior-level local finance professionals to support the division and region.
  • Ensure staff have career development plans that provide Gallagher with strong bench strength for future leaders and specialized individual contributors.
  • Deliver reviews and projects on time, within agreed budget, and in accordance with the expectations of the regional finance team.
  • Drive cross-functional initiatives with Corporate Audit, Corporate Compliance, Enterprise Risk Management, Corporate Accounting, etc.

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university, preferably in finance, accounting or related field.
  • Minimum 15 years of work experience in public accounting and/or industry, including 5 years supervisory experience.
  • Language proficiency in English and Spanish, strongly preferred.
Preferred:
  • 10+ years of supervisory experience.
  • 20+ years of work experience in public accounting or related industry; FP&A background strongly desirable.
  • CPA and/or MBA with concentration in accounting, finance or related field.
  • Relevant experience (preferably brokerage).
  • Experience with data analytics.
  • Experience with offshore functional reporting support beneficial.
  • Worked and navigated in a large corporate environment.
  • Significant management experience essential.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 25% of the time.
