This position reports to

Regional Product Group Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to support the deployment of the quality strategy for the local ELDS division, including quality culture, systems, tools, and competent teams with the aim to achieve and exceed customer expectations, while ensuring sustainable operations. Each day, you will assist the organization in achieving the right mix of prevention, continuous improvement, robust root cause analysis, quick response, and sustainable solutions to problems. You will also showcase your expertise by collaborating with local functions that impact the quality results to reach the targets for the organizational unit and aim for world-class performance. The work model for the role is: Hybrid. This role contributes to the Electrification business area, and their Distribution Solutions division in Chile, belonging to the Operations team. Your main stakeholders will be end users, the Engineering team, Project Managers, Quality and Operations Managers, as well as suppliers.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Creation, monitoring and preparation of quality documents
  • Involvement and leadership in quality matters for Project Managers, to contribute to decision making
  • Detection of supplier quality events, and leadership of quality matters with the supplier
  • Active participation in meetings with clients
  • Support local teams to ensure ABB, customer and stakeholder requirements are met for zero defect solutions
  • Evaluate compliance with the defined system, ensuring that processes and procedures are followed correctly
  • Use quality data analysis to identify risks, failures and non-conformities, and take corrective and preventive measures
  • Maintain and support the quality management system of the local unit, collaborating with local functions to ensure correct execution and management of processes
  • Support the resolution of client cases through root cause analysis and implementation of preventive and corrective actions
Qualifications for the role
  • You have over 5 years of experience in Quality Management for products and projects (follow-up of quality inspections and treatment of non-conformities according to ISO 9001)
  • You have knowledge of national and international electrical norms, such as IEC and ANSI, as well as quality standards from ISO
  • You have a professional degree in Electrical engineering (majoring in Power), Industrial Engineering or have training and studies in Quality Management
  • You are a leader, being able to influence and lead Quality matters with internal teams and suppliers. You can communicate effectively in team situations and are highly solution focused, proactive, and teamwork oriented
  • An intermediate level of English is desired, as well as a fluent level of Spanish
  • You are willing to travel when work assignments require it
