How will you make an impact? (Objective)
By working with our commercial team and clients to deliver differentiated solutions which solve customer challenges and improve profitability. This role also entails working with Project Engineers and Operations to execute and deliver customer projects.
What will you do? (Responsibilities) Design systems to achieve the lowest Total Cost of Ownership, taking into account factors such as installation, commissioning and ongoing maintenance.
- Maintain equipment designs int eh global PDM database.
- Review sales proposals for technical feasibility.
- Assist Project Management and Sales by completing customer documentation requirements.
- Provide safe, fit for purpose, accurate, on time and cost effective designs.
- Provide CAD data and drawing packages in a timely manner.
- In liaison with marketing and senior engineers, specify reliable and accurate equipment or systems that maximizes the reuse of existing designs.
- Maintain the integrity of the product line through quality design and timely sustaining engineering and minimise warranty work by ensuring robust designs.
- Ensure compliance with relevant country and International standards of design, manufacture and supply
- Conduct riskassessments and hazard identification on "new" or reengineered products and provide key input into Product Control.
- Deliver engineering changes through ECO/MOC process for product improvements or sustaining.
- Keep up to date with industry best practices and competitor capabilities.

- Provide technical data and feedback for the annual strategic planning process, product management, marketing plans and New Product Development (NPD) opportunities.
- Create and manage tools which allow for Engineering Product and Project Teams to work more efficiently and independently.
Other Job Requirements:
- Adhere to OHS policies and procedures and ensure a safe and balanced workplace environment, in particular ensuring that:
- The principles of hazard management are followed, including regular SOTs and reporting hazards as soon as they become apparent
- Job and site risk assessments are conducted prior to commencing work
- Only work for which you are trained and/or qualified is undertaken
- All incidents (near misses) and accidents are reported to the supervisor in line with policy
- PPE is used as intended, and as and when required without exception
- Any change in personal circumstance which may compromise your ability to work safely is reported to management as a matter of urgency
- You assist in training/educating/teaching employees in their tasks prior to execution of same as and when requested by management, or at the least prior to requesting an individual to execute a task.
- As a minimum, have a basic understanding of the full suite of products within the PA & BMH product line.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Education
- Degree qualification in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering.
Experience
- Minimum 4 years work experience in an appropriate engineering role. Experience in minerals processing, slurry transportation, materials handling and/or heavy industry would be desirable but not crucial.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Selfmotivated with an ability to manage schedules and maintain critical timelines.
- Presentation and interpersonal skills to develop high levels of credibility with internal and external customers.
- A broad range of mechanical engineering knowledge with proven experience in the following:
- Designing to AS/ISO, including the ISO 9001: Quality System
- 2D and 3D drawing packages (AutoCAD, SolidWorks preferred) and Microsoft Office.
- Bilingual with Spanish or Chinese language in addition to English preferred.
