  • About the Role
  • The Role purpose is to lead, develop and manage the performance of the Global Mobility Americas team (Chile and Canada), provide strategic advice and partner with the business to deliver effective and efficient Global Mobility activites.
  • Lead, motivate, coach and develop a team of global mobility specialists to deliver world class service that is compliant, timely and employee experiencefocussed whilst maintaining operational discipline
  • Execute global mobility activities for executive employees and ELT members assigned to or within the region.
  • Support the GM team with resolving complex employee and leader global mobility queries in region and be the point of escalation for the business on service delivery and compliance issues.
  • Manage the provision of strategic support to the Businesses on global mobility moves of the region
  • Develop frameworks/tools and provide GM guidance for Businesses to manage compliance requirements in respect to Short Term Business Travellers for the Region
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the Region, including but not limited to:
  • Resolution of issues escalated by key stakeholders in the Region
  • Manage relationships with external Vendors in region to ensure high quality service delivery and prompt resolution of issues. Support Manger Global Mobility with contractual management of global vendors and strategic sourcing process for GM service providers.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives of GM processes, tools, templates, and systems to ensure compliance with regulatory and governance requirements. Proactively seek opportunities to simplify, remove duplication and minimise handoffs to enhance standardisation, effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Identify risks and provide input into mitigations and action planning. Ensure Risk Management protocols are incorporated into operational activities
  • Maintain good working relationships with peers within the BHP HR (GBS H2R, Global Reward, HRBP's, Sub-Function SMEs).
  • Represent Global Mobility on HR Americas initiatives and projects
  • Support the Manager Global Mobility as required.


 About You
  • Experience managing teams to support delivery/execution of global mobility policies, processes and initiatives.
  • Deep technical expertise in global mobility programs, including ability to think conceptually, analyse, problem solve and drive practical solutions
  • Ability to navigate complex issues and develop simplified processes to manage the complexity
  • Promote a culture of innovation, learning and development and continuous improvement with the team.
  • Ability to influence others to achieve desired outcomes, including being able to work with people across all levels of the organisation (administrators to Vice Presidents) and crossculturally as part of a global team
  • Able to translate data analytics into commercial insights


 Required
  • Degree or equivalent education required and/or international reward roles
  • Deep experience with the management and understanding of global mobility programs and policies
  • Excellent understanding of reporting requirements and governance issues as they relate to tax and immigration and understanding of global jurisdictional differences, legislation and regulations
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Extensive technical experience in global mobility concepts, methodologies and approaches as well as strong people management (directly or indirectly) in a global company.
  • Excellent communication skills, high attention to detail, and strong analytical skills.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English, both verbal and written


 Recommended
  • Good understanding of international HR and payroll processes, reporting and data management.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle numerous tasks simultaneously while prioritizing and meeting deadlines. Proficiency in use of the Microsoft Office suite, in particular Microsoft Excel Project management skills an advantage. Experience in SAP and Assignment Pro (or equivalent) preferred.
